Jose Mourinho and Tottenham: A match made in heaven ... or hell?

The past 12 hours at Tottenham Hotspur have felt more like a day in the life of a bored teenager playing Football Manager than reality.

Given the transformation of both parties in recent years, Jose Mourinho's appointment at Tottenham feels like an antithetical match.

While the north London club developed a reputation under the affable Mauricio Pochettino for being one of the most entertaining teams on the continent, Mourinho's most recent stint in charge of a club was a tetchy, turgid affair that ended messily.

But for all the negativity surrounding his attitude and tactics during two-and-a-half seasons at Manchester United, Mourinho managed คาสิโนsagameing something Pochettino didn't in five years at Tottenham: winning trophies.

The Portuguese led United to the Europa League and League Cup to become the first manager in United's history to win a trophy in his debut season at the club.

Having spent more than one billion dollars on building what is now arguably the greatest sports stadium in the world, Tottenham now has an obligation to be successful.

It was widely reported that Levy broke the club's strict wage structure to tie talisman Harry Kane to a new long-term contract but the expenditure on the stadium meant Pochettino was hamstrung in the transfer market.

Moreover, any successful team needs the regular addition of new faces to prevent stagnation -- and that was not a luxury afforded to Pochettino.

In 2018, the club became the first in Premier League history to not sign a single player during the summer transfer window.

No signings were made in the 2019 winter transfer window either and it wasn't until the summer of 2019 before Tottenham finally added some new faces in the form of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon.

Tottenham's new billion-dollar stadium attracted a record crowd for women's soccer in England with 38,262 fans watching a historic north London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal Sunday.

The game was a new high for the Women's Super League (WSL), surpassing the 31,213 who packed in to watch Manchester City's win over Manchester United in September.

Tottenham was promoted to the top flight this season to set up its first competitive meeting with traditional rival Arsenal since the WSL began in 2011.

Arsenal, which brought a lively pack of away fans, triumphed 2-0 with goals from Kim Little and Vivianne Miedema, but it was another landmark moment in the women's game that continues to grow in England and around the world.

There was certainly a family feel to Sunday's game with cheaper tickets offering children a chance to watch women's football in one of the world's คาสิโนsagameing best stadiums.

Granit Xhaka: Social media abuse pushed Arsenal star to 'boiling point'

Granit Xhaka reached "boiling point" after his wife and daughter were abusively targeted on social media, the Arsenal captain said as he spoke for the first time to explain his angry reaction to the club's supporters booing him.

The embattled Swiss international stopped short of issuing a full apology to the fans, however, even after his manager Unai Emery said the 27-year-old's reaction was "wrong" when he was hauled off in the 61st minute in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Emery confirmed Xhaka wouldn't feature against Wolves on Saturday in the Premier League.

The midfielder received ironic cheers as he first made his ufacasino way off the pitch before they turned into boos from a section of the support at the Emirates Stadium.

He didn't help himself when he cupped his ears looking at the crowd, didn't shake Emery's hand, angrily took off his jersey and launched into a foul-mouthed tirade.

"The scenes that took place around my substitution have moved me deeply," Xhaka said in a statement posted on Arsenal's twitter feed and website late Thursday. "I love this club and always give 100% on and off the pitch.

"My feeling of not being understood by fans and repeated abusive comments at matches and in social media over the last weeks and months have hurt me deeply.
